Registering Information
SHOWT literally means Sexual Health Outreach With Teenagers.
SHOWT is a scheme in the Sunderland region which gives free condoms to young people aged between 14 and 25. Anywhere you see the SHOWT sign you can get condoms for free! Details are included on this site for all locations in Sunderland where you can obtain free condoms under the scheme.
Condoms via the SHOWT scheme are free, but first you will have to call in and register with us.
Registration is carried out in an informal process, you will be made to feel comfortable and at ease throughout the process.
Everything we talk about during the registration will be confidential (we won't tell anyone anything).
There are rare occasions when we would break this confidentiality... For instance if we thought you were in serious danger from someone else, or were in danger of harming yourself or others.
Before a SHOWT card can be issued, you must meet the requirements of the SHOWT registration paperwork.
You will be taken through it at a pace which is comfortable for you, and we will ensure you understand everything.
If you are under 16, you will also need to comply with the "Frazer Guidelines". If they are over 16, the Fraser Guidelines do not apply to them!
Once this informal registration process has been successfully completed, we will give you your SHOWT card, allowing you to attend any of the destinations and obtain free condoms and advice.
